How our scores work
Short answer
We score each casino on six criteria: banking speed (25%), bonus value and terms (20%), pokies range (20%), mobile play (15%), support (10%) and licence (10%). Each gets a mark out of 10, the marks are weighted and added up, and the result is rounded to one decimal place.
Australians picking a PayID casino mostly want to know three things: will my money get out quickly, is the bonus worth taking, and are the pokies any good. The weights follow those priorities.
The same formula is applied to every brand on the site. You can see where each one lands on the full list of casino reviews, ranked from the highest score down.
The six criteria and their weights
| Criterion | Weight | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Banking speed | 25% | PayID and bank transfer support, published withdrawal times, minimum deposit and withdrawal, how many payment options |
| Bonus value & terms | 20% | Size of the welcome deal, rollover, minimum deposit to qualify, game restrictions, reloads and VIP |
| Pokies range | 20% | Number of games, the providers behind them, live casino and extra categories like fishing or crash games |
| Mobile | 15% | How the lobby works on a phone, app or web-app options, how quick the sign-up is |
| Support | 10% | Live chat availability, how clearly the help pages explain banking and verification |
| Licence | 10% | Which regulator issues the licence and how clearly the operator shows it |
Banking speed (25%)
This is the heaviest weight because it is the part that matters once you win. We look at the cash-out times each operator publishes for PayID, bank transfer and crypto, the minimum withdrawal, and whether verification has to be done before the first payout.
Fast, clearly stated withdrawals score highest. That is a big part of why iPay9 sits at the top of our ratings: it lists e-wallet cash-outs in 5–15 minutes and bank transfers in under an hour. Our fast withdrawal casinos guide ranks every brand on this criterion alone, and the PayID casinos page explains how the payment method itself works.
Bonus value and terms (20%)
A big headline number only scores well if the terms let you actually use it. We weigh the match and maximum against the rollover, the minimum deposit needed to qualify, and any game limits. Ongoing value counts too: reloads, cashback and VIP tiers.
How we read a rollover
A $100 bonus with a 5x rollover means $500 in bets before the bonus money can be withdrawn. A 2x rollover on the same bonus means $200. Lower is better, and we score it that way.
Victor96 is a good example of terms lifting a score: its three-step welcome deal reaches $1,800 and the first bonus carries a low 2x rollover. Free-credit deals are covered separately on our no deposit bonus page.
Pokies range (20%)
We count games and providers, but care more about the mix: JILI, Pragmatic Play, Playtech and Play'n GO cover very different styles of pokie. Live casino, fishing and crash games add a little on top.
Our online pokies guide explains what RTP and volatility mean if you want to judge a lobby yourself.
Mobile play (15%)
Most of our readers play on a phone, so we look at how the lobby, cashier and sign-up behave on a small screen. A native Android app, an iOS home-screen web app and a quick SMS sign-up all count in a brand's favour. The casino apps guide lists which brands offer what.
Support and licence (10% each)
Support is scored on availability and clarity. Round-the-clock live chat and help pages that spell out verification and withdrawal rules score best, because those are the questions players actually ask.
Licence is scored on who the regulator is and how plainly the operator displays its licensing details. The brands we cover hold licences from bodies such as Curaçao, Anjouan and PAGCOR, and we note the licence in each review.
How the score out of 10 is built
Mark each criterion
Each of the six criteria gets a mark from 0 to 10, based on the operator's published terms and the facts in our brand card.
Apply the weights
Each mark is multiplied by its weight: 0.25 for banking, 0.20 for bonus and pokies, 0.15 for mobile, 0.10 for support and licence.
Add and round
The six weighted marks are added together and rounded to one decimal place. That number is the rating you see on the review.
| Criterion | Mark | Weight | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banking speed | 9.0 | 25% | 2.25 |
| Bonus value & terms | 8.0 | 20% | 1.60 |
| Pokies range | 9.0 | 20% | 1.80 |
| Mobile | 8.5 | 15% | 1.28 |
| Support | 8.0 | 10% | 0.80 |
| Licence | 8.0 | 10% | 0.80 |
| Total | 100% | 8.5 |
In practice, scores across our reviews currently run from 7.5 to 8.9. Bunny96 earns its 8.7 mostly on banking, with cash-outs in about 5–10 minutes once verification is done, and a lobby drawing on 66 providers.
When scores change
Casinos change their bonuses, payment options and limits often. When the operator's terms change, we update the brand card and re-run the formula, and the ranking order on the site follows the new score. Affiliate commission never feeds into the formula; there is more on that on our about page.
A high score is not a promise you will win. Set a budget before you play and read our responsible gambling guide if you want help with limits.
Questions people ask
Why does banking speed carry the most weight?
Because players feel it most directly. A generous bonus or a huge lobby means little if a withdrawal drags on. Fast PayID cash-outs, clear minimums and simple verification are what Australians ask about first, so banking gets a quarter of the score.
Do casinos pay for a higher rating?
No. We earn commission when readers sign up through our links, but the formula is the same for every brand and commission is not one of the inputs. A brand moves up or down the ranking only when its published terms, banking or games change.
How often are ratings updated?
Whenever an operator changes something that feeds the formula, such as a new welcome offer, a different rollover, added payment methods or updated withdrawal times. The brand card is updated first, then the score is recalculated and the ranking reorders itself.
What is the lowest and highest score on the site?
Our ratings currently range from 7.5 to 8.9 out of 10. The scale is built so that a casino only appears on the site if it reaches a solid level across all six criteria, which is why you will not see scores in the low single digits here.
Can I use the same criteria to judge a casino myself?
Yes, and we encourage it. Check the published withdrawal times, read the rollover and minimum deposit on the bonus, look at which providers supply the pokies, and try the site on your phone before depositing. Those four checks cover most of what our score measures.
